Happy Batman Day from a True Fan: Celebrating the Dark Knight

Everyone loves Batman right? I mean what’s not to love about a brooding, secretive, tough-as-nails, genius, billionaire who can kick ass. LOL

Well, enough people love him for him to have his very own day, and today’s that day. Batman was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger and debuted in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics on March 30, 1939.

Batman has always been one of my favorite superheroes. I didn’t read comics when I was little. I was first introduced to most superheroes through television and this was the case for Batman. I watched the old 1950 Batman growing up which was kind of campy and funny but it was Batman: The Animated Series that came out in 1992 that my love for Batman really became deep.

I love that he has the coolest gadgets. Being a tech geek, you know I really do love me some gadgets, especially ones that can make you seem as if you have superpowers. Batman’s gadgets give him the upper hand in almost every situation. You could really see how cool his gadgets are if you watched the Tim Burton Batman movies which also started in 1992. I was lucky enough to work a promo gig one summer in which I actually had the chance to get up and personal with many of the gadgets used in those movies and let me say it was a dream come true.

I guess I wish I had that in my life. But, I don’t so I guess I’ll just live vicariously through him. For now anyway! 🙂
